THE 1998 DUTCH RACING PROMOTIONS / G-TECH AMBITION

The Objectives

To win both the GT2 and overall titles in the prestigious Privilege Insurance G.T. Championship with a team that combines Dutch business acumen with British engineering expertise in the true spirit of European co-operation. The Championship itself was born from the world famous Le Mans 24 Hour race and brings some of the most highly powerful and truly exciting GT sports cars to our race tracks.

The Team

Already established itself as a regular winning force in both Holland and in International events, Dutch Racing Promotions has a record of great success in the Maranello Ferrari Challenge, the Ferrari-Porsche Challenge, the Opel Euroseries, the Dutch Touring Car Championship and in International F3 racing. The partnership with G-Tech Motorsport brings to the team a superb engineering input from a company that has a proven hugely successful record in British motorsport with the bonus of a base in southern England, close to the Continent and ideal for both the British and Belgian races of the Championship.

The Personnel

Hans Te Pas is the owner of both Dutch Racing Promotions and the Lotus Esprit, with which they will contest the Championship. An established race driver in his own right, Hans combines his passion for power and speed with his success in business to run the whole operation from his base in Holland.

Will Gollop, the 1992 European Rallycross Champion, is the owner of G-Tech Motorsport and brings his established skills in the engineering of winning race and rallycross cars together with his reputation as a top-class driver.

Andy Finch is the English half of the race preparation team, and with homes both here and in Holland, Andy embodies a very European approach to his undoubted skill as a top race mechanic who has worked with Will and Hans for more than twelve years.

Eelke Wesbonk is the Dutch half of the race preparation team with nine years experience as a race mechanic for Hans. He is the team's "truckie", intensely proud of our International race transporter which he ensures is always fully equipped with everything the team might need.

John Saborin has worked in motorsport for over 30 years. He has worked with Will in the development of the all important turbocharger system and intercooler and fabricated all of the required components. His experience is proving invaluable in the pursuit of even more speed for the Lotus.

The M-Sport Motor Racing and Promotions connection

M-Sport is owned by Graham Morris, the new driver to the team for 1998, whose Promotional division will be providing a fully equipped hospitality unit from which up to 30 guests will be provided with an unforgettable memory of motor racing at its best.
